10 More Interesting Concepts Learned This Week:

1. Movies take a lot more time and effort to be good. I never realized every small detail that goes into one scene of a movie, the color scheme, the tones of voices, the small details.

2. Teeth have the ability to repair themselves using body fluora. Although, a main ingredient in many toothpastes, Glycerin, inhibits some of the fluora to get to the areas that need repair. I hear it could potentially have great benefit to brush your teeth with Ivory Soap, but that doesn't sound very cleansing to me.

3. Excess Carbon Dioxide lowers the blood pH; the lungs rid the body of excess Carbon Dioxide. It is thought that people may yawn as a reaction to the pH lowering too much, an effort of the body to stabilize the pH back to a normal level. Although it is unknown why yawns are contagious.

4. Scientists divide people into one of two categories based on specific traits. Right-brained people are more intuitive and more creative and artistic.

5. Left-brained people are more logical and use sequence of events to think and make decisions.

6. In the 7th century royal courts in the Middle East began using forks at the dining table. Previously, forks were only used to carve meat.

7. Harry Chandler, a former real estate agent, had the Hollywood sign built in 1923. He had hoped it would be a major advertisement for him and his agency, it cost him $21,000 to have built. It originally said 'Hollywood Land' but 'Land' was removed in 1949.

8. The game of Chess originated in India.

9. The coldest place on Earth is Vastok, Antartica which reached -129 degrees Fahrenheit.

10. 5.7% of white women diagnosed with pancreatic cancer have a chance to live past 5 years of diagnosis.
